On Saturday, October 5 with blue skies and warm temps, about 60 Dolores Heights neighbors came to the DHIC annual Fall Gathering at the top of Sanchez Hill. We closed the block of Sanchez between 21st & Hill Streets for a fun and informative get-together.
Neighbors heard from Jessica Closson, SFPD Community Engagement Liaison for District 8, and from Supervisor Rafael Mandelman about homelessness and housing issues and the work underway to address them. Lots of Q&A and good dialog ensued.
The chairs of DHIC Committees had information about their work and how neighbors can get involved. All of this conversation was leavened by refreshments and a drawing for gift certificates at area restaurants and stores.
A big THANK YOU! to the merchants who donated prizes to our drawing: BiRite Market, Canela Restaurant, Delfina Restaurant, Fable Restaurant, Hot Cookie, Molly Stone’s Market, Poesia Restaurant, The Sausage Factory, and 17th and Noe Market. Please patronize these merchants who support us!
Lots of neighbors joined or renewed their memberships for 2020 at the Gathering. DHIC membership runs on a calendar year … and we start the renewal process in October for the coming year. If you missed the Fall Gathering and want to support us, you can download our membership form here. (Coming soon on our website … online membership via credit card.)
