On Saturday, October 8 more than 100 neighbors attended DHIC’s annual block party! We enjoyed food, entertainment, hearing from our local elected officials and of course, The Great Raffle! Scott Wiener (our District 8 supervisor and State Senatortor-elect) and Jane Kim (District 4 supervisor and Scott’s opponent for State Senate) spoke and answered questions about housing, crime, and their platform for our neighbors. Dennis Richards (SF Planning Commissioner who resides in District 8) talked more in-depth and took questions about housing issues. The Vibes, a ukelele band, and Multi-Celli, cello quartet of local residents, kept us entertained while we sampled food and beverages from our sponsors: Absinthe Bar & Brasserie, Casa de Sanchez, Limoncocco, and Petit Pot. Kids kept busy with face painting and games. Many people enjoyed the Dolores Heights photo history exhibit and the Green Gardens/Mural project organized by DHIC leaders. Neighborhood services like Wag Hotel, Kitty Chateau, Zero Waste also had tables at the block party. And the Blue Angels did a few fly-overs to salute Dolores Heights!
We look forward to the 2017 fall Block Party. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with any suggestions or to get involved.
